A client from The Netherlands
submitted a WPML support request to WPML expert with the following:
Description
Dear Boris,
I found your website through WPML and am curious if you can help me with the following:
I own a Dutch WooCommerce webshop: www.webshop.nl
Using the WPML plugin, I’ve translated it into English: www.webshop.com and German: www.webshop.de
Now the German and English domain names need to be changed to www.webstore.com and www.webstore.de (I already own these domain names). This is beyond my expertise, so I’m looking for someone who can do the following for me:
1) Replace the domain names and ensure that all old URLs redirect to the new URLs.
2) In some texts or SEO (Yoast), replace “Webshop” with “Webstore.” I think this can be done automatically (database?), but I don’t know how.
3) I want to be able to send emails from info@webstore.com. Currently, I can only send emails from info@webshop.nl and not from the other domain names. The web host says this is because the German and English domain names are pointers/aliases, while WPML says this should be possible with an MX record (?). I’d like some advice on this. Is there a solution to still be able to send emails from the pointer/alias? Or would it be better to change the main language to English? And thus link the web hosting package to webstore.com and no longer to webshop.nl? I don’t know if this is relevant, but perhaps webshop.nl will be replaced by webstore.nl/.be or .net next year. However, that’s not currently the case.
I’d like to know if you can help me and what the approximate costs will be.
Kind regards,
Anne
